Field survey & data collection app
Record first,
signal later
Online forms will not open without a connection. Titen will. Entries are saved to the phone first and sent later, once there is signal.

How it works
- 1
Works with no signal
Forms, photos, and location points all work without a connection.
- 2
Saves automatically
Every entry goes straight to the phone. If the app closes on you, your entries are still there.
- 3
Sends itself
Once there is signal, data is sent in the background. You do not have to press anything.
Features
Small things that save time in the field.
New surveys without an app update
Surveys published by the admin show up in your list on their own. No trip to the Play Store.
Photos stay small
Photos are shrunk to around 500 KB. Once they are sent, the copy on the phone is deleted.
Location point
The respondent's coordinates are stored along with their accuracy.
Questions split across pages
A long survey is split across several pages.
Easy on the battery
Titen does not check the network while you are idle. Location is only read when you mark it.
Clear status
Every entry has one status: waiting, sending, sent, or failed.
Questions
How is this different from Google Forms?
Google Forms needs a connection to open the form and to submit it. At a site with no signal, both fail. Titen saves entries to the phone first and sends them later. But Titen runs on your organisation's own server, and someone has to set the surveys up. If you just need a one-off form, Google Forms is the better fit.
Do I need internet?
No. Filling in forms, taking photos, and marking locations all work without a connection.
What if the app closes on me?
Your entries are still there. Every change is written to the phone right away, so you carry on where you left off.
Where is my data stored?
On your phone first. A copy goes to the server run by the organisation you work for.
My session expires while I am far from signal. What happens?
Your data is safe and nothing is deleted. Once you log in again, everything is sent.
Is it heavy on battery or storage?
Photos are shrunk to around 500 KB, then deleted from the phone once sent. Location is read only when you mark it.
There is a new survey. Do I need to update the app?
No. New surveys appear in your list on their own once the phone has signal.
My phone is an old Android. Will it work?
Yes, as long as it is Android 8.0 or newer.
How secure is the data?
Data travels to the server over an encrypted connection. But data stored on the phone itself is not encrypted in this version, so keep the phone locked.
What language is the app in?
Indonesian. Titen is built for enumerators working in Indonesia, so the app and the screenshot above are in Bahasa Indonesia.
